I am enrolled in both the Ph.D. program in “Electronics, Telecommunications and Computer Science” at university of Bologna and the Ph.D. program in Computer Science at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) My research is mainly performed on vehicular networks with focus on: - mobility models and simulators for network simulation studies
- use of 802.11 in ad-hoc and hybrid mode
- MAC and Routing schemes for vehicular environments
Research Summary My research activity at Bologna is performed within WiLAB, the Wireless Communication Laboratory in Bologna. WiLAB includes researchers and resources from DEIS (the Department of Electronics, Computer Sciences and Systems of Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna), IEIIT-BO (the Bologna section of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Telecommunication Engineering of Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), and CNIT (the Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni). My advisors in Bologna are prof. Roberto Verdone and prof. Marco Chiani My research activity at UCLA is performed within the Vehicular Lab that is a part of the Network Research Laboratory led by my advisor prof. Mario Gerla.BIO Eugenio Giordano was born on January 9th 1982 in Reggio Emilia, Italy. He received both Laurea and Laurea Magistrale degrees in telecommunications engineering from the University of Bologna, respectively in 2003 and 2006. He has been awarded with the Microsoft Research European PhD Scholarship in 2007. He received his MS degree in Computer Science from UCLA in 2009. |
